The Job
The Associate Media Director provides senior leadership and mentorship on assigned accounts and team members. Additionally, the Associate Media Director is responsible for making sure all day-to-day media planning and client-service activities associated with assigned accounts are executed. This individual provides strategic media-planning recommendations and offers resourceful problem-solving, both internally and externally, while maintaining successful client relationships. Associate Media Directors have command over managing the account team and mentors younger staff. The ideal candidate has the ability to step into situations to provide guidance and counsel, has a solid understanding of the media and marketing landscape as a whole and is an overall resource for the team. The Associate Media Director is expected to have influence across the agency from account growth, mentorship, new business, processes, task forces, etc.
The Work
- Develop strategic media recommendations with supporting rationale
- Develop, present and execute media strategies and plans
- Has command over client and vendor relationships
- Manage buy stewardship, analyze campaigns and recommend tactical changes to maximize campaign performance
- Analyzes research to develop strategies and tactics
- Manages the account team including analytics, trafficking, ad-serving and finance departments
- Manage day-to-day plan changes and maintenance of media plans
- Successfully manages, tracks and balances client budgets and cash on hand
- Respond to competitive requests and compile appropriate data and analysis
- Oversee and train junior staff
- Other responsibilities as assigned
The Essentials
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5-8 years of relevant experience
Your Capabilities
- Able to work successfully in a team environment that promotes collaboration in addition to working independently and leveraging resources at hand
- Provides meaningful mentorship to junior staff
- Effectively manage account teams
- You communicate effectively at all levels
- Has strong customer service and mentorship skills
- Establish and maintain effective relationships interdepartmentally, as well as with those outside the team and agency
- Possesses strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Effectively utilizes and analyzes research tools such as MRI, SEMRush, and RivalIQ
- Demonstrates the principles of marketing and advertising, along with media concepts and terms, creative and budget requirements
- Applies business knowledge to marketing in order to advance the department and, ultimately, agency processes and business
- Experience in Facebook Ads Manager, Google Analytics, Google Ads, Google Data Studio and Google Campaign Manager
- Knowledgeable and confident on all aspects of digital and traditional media, including Paid Social Media, Programmatic, Out-of-home, TV, Connected TV, Print, etc.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Able to prioritize, multi-task and work under pressure
- Possesses strong communication, project-management and time-management skills
- Excel and PowerPoint master

- Direct experience with The Trade Desk
- Proficient in Attribution Modeling concepts and execution
- Knowledgeable in Search Engine Management and Search Engine Optimization
- Understanding of Public Relations, Community Management and Affiliate Marketing

Salary: $80,000 – 90,000 annual (depending on experience) plus benefits
